We will always remember the great Matt Monro

Matt Monro
Jnr with Vince Hall - Photograph courtesy of Terry 'Dutch' Holland
Vince has recently started to include songs
by the legendary Matt Monro into his repertoire. Vince went to see Matt Monro Junior in concert at the Beck Theatre in London.
This is a tribute to Matt Monro from his son and includes stories and memories of his dad and his life. Vince pictured above
with Matt Monro Jnr took the opportunity to thank him and explain that whilst Vince sings Sinatra songs he would be including
some Matt Monro favourites into his own shows, including favourites like "From Russia with love" and "Portrait
of my love".
Matt Monro Jnr was delighted and thanked Vince for keeping his Dad's name and songs in the spotlight
for years to come. Ironically Vince has some uncanny similarities with Matt Monro Snr! They both went to Hong Kong with the
Forces and sang there, also Matt sang his last ever performance at the Grand in Wolverhampton, where Vince lived before joining
the Royal Navy!

The Dug Out recording studios

Dug-Out studios
in Fareham, above, Geoff is putting together Vince's third album, using 'state of the art' computerised equipment. "Cutting
a disk" or putting a CD together requires many rehearsals to perfect the final sound that you hear. Dug-Out studios have
the facility to hire and use sound proof rehearsal rooms to spend time perfecting your songs ready to record. Vince has used
the studio to produce CD's primarily for demo' purposes, but in the shape of an album. On his first album Vince put twelve
songs and on his recent recording he put fifteen songs onto CD.

Vince raises over £1500 for Children and Fairthorne Manor
Bursary Scheme Fairthorne Manor run a bursary scheme at their prestigious
Childrens activity site near Botley in Hampshire. Vince put on a show to raise money for the bursary which allows children
who either can't afford to visit the site on a Daycamp or who deserve a place in recognition of their achievements and the
challenges they have dealt with over the past year. Raising this amount of money will allow children the opportunity to visit
for a Daycamp and partake in the great activities on offer at Fairthorne Manor.

Frank Sinatra, the one and only!

Nobody
will ever replace the great man himself. Vince does not impersonate Frank Sinatra, "if you impersonate Frank then people
compare you with him, and that's a fatal mistake." Vince sings in his own style, which still encaptures the magic of
Sinatra!

Surprise party for Sally Dale

Surprise
birthday party for Sally Dale, seen here with her friends, having a great time whilst Vince Interacts and gets everyone singing
along. A truly excellent night remembered by all for many years to come! Most of Sally's friends who attended the evening
had travelled from all over the country to celebrate and join in the surprise. The evening held another surprise for Vince,
Bev Smithyman an ex work colleague of Vince's was sat at the table, they hadn't seen each other since 1984!

Vince recently
sang at a surprise birthday party at Eastney for Sally Dale (pictured above in white) and her long time friends from years
gone by. Sally had no idea that her husband Kevin had planned the evening, which involved a superb three course gourmet meal,
champagne and the girls were served by their husbands, making the evening very special. Singing popular songs and crooning
to Sally's friends, Vince thoroughly enjoyed the evening and said it was the first time he had sang to an "all female"
audience!

Vince sings in Guernsey, Channel Islands

Vince appeared in the Channel Islands recently by appearing at the Wayside Cheer hotel, Guernsey,
for a cabaret show. A sell out venue watched as he wooed the audience with classic Sinatra songs. Vince has also sang at St.
Margaret's Lodge hotel on the island. A place where Vince loves to visit was made even more special to be able sing on the
Island. He will be appearing in Guernsey again later this year.
